Christmas Shortbread Cookies




Makes about 12-15 cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Mix butter and sugar: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar together until smooth and creamy.

  3. Add dry ingredients: Gradually mix in the flour, salt, and vanilla extract until the dough comes together.

  4. Shape the dough: Roll the dough into a log or press it into a cookie cutter to make festive shapes like stars or trees.

  5. Bake: Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

  6. Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
